For a lot of people, the last few years have been filled with ups and downs. But for 25 year old Callum Roebuck, he can safely say that even in the midst of a global pandemic, 2021 was the biggest year of his life.

Having started as an Instructor at SpeedFit Duncraig, Callum knew that helping people was his passion. He got a thrill out of seeing people transform in front of his eyes, but he longed for more of a challenge.

After five months he moved into the Studio Manager role at SpeedFit Myaree. Here he gained hands-on managerial experience and began to learn the skills of rostering, budgeting, profit and loss statements, and business management just to name a few. But after 12 months he longed for more.

“Early on in my SpeedFit journey, I knew my long-term goal was to eventually open up my own studio. I wanted to be closer to home and have my family involved as we are a big fitness family who are very passionate about helping others become the best versions of themselves!

The only issue I faced back then, was if it was possible for me to do. I was 25 and didn’t have a huge amount of savings, but I had such drive and ambition and wanted nothing more than a Studio to call my own.

After reaching out to Matej, the CEO of SpeedFit, I let him know about my plans. After various discussions Matej presented me with the opportunity to open up my own studio via the franchise partnership model. This meant that we could go into business with Matej directly, with 49% ownership and the goal to eventually own 100%.’’

Callum opened SpeedFit Mandurah in August 2021. He was the second Employee Pathway Franchisee. Since opening, the Studio has gone from strength to strength. Mandurah became the first SpeedFit Studio to reach 100 members in less than eight weeks, won the November Social Media Award and is on track to be a top five performing Studio Australia wide.

While Callum is loving his time as a Studio Owner, he shows no sign of slowing down. He has big plans for 2022, including business expansion (did someone say SpeedFit studio number two?!), public speaking engagements and even authoring his own book!

If you are a fitness or wellness professional who longs to have their very own business just like Callum, SpeedFit could be for you.
